Overview

An exceptional unique 5 star property close to the seashore with panoramic coastal views. Whether it be calm and tranquil seas or wild and frantic waters you will never tire of simply looking out of the windows.

This property was the original Coastguard Station in Amble from where the lifeboat used to be launched from mid 1800’s.   A sensitive renovation and rebuild has taken place to allow the house to become a stunning open plan residence with the best location in Amble,  You could not be staying any closer to the sea. This house is light and airy with full east to west views.

Immediately outside the house you can stroll around the breakwater and pier to the harbour. Watch the local fishing boats unload the daily catch and purchase the freshest seafood from the Alliance fish stall. Enjoy coffee and cakes or dine at the restaurants on the harbour. Dip into the little shore beach and explore the rock pools on the ‘jumpy’ shore, both are adjacent to the house. Browse through the independent shops and the collection of retail 'pods' next to the harbour and enjoy the local produce in the many restaurants found in town. Take kayak or paddle board lessons from the surf school. Cyclists and runners have a wonderful separate road side track to Alnmouth from Warkworth. Enjoy taking a river walk to Warkworth to visit the medieval castle.

Property Details

Ground Floor

The entrance hallway comprises of a cloak room, that leads to the kitchen, living room and into a games room with a pool table and dart board inside. With access to the beautiful wide pale oak staircase that takes you to the first floor.

Kitchen

The Scandinavian style kitchen has a tiled underfloor heating system and is extremely well equipped. It is a joy to cook and dine in with full width opening bi-fold doors that lead out onto the steel and glass framed terrace. Appliances include a dishwasher and a duel fuel range cooker with 6 gas burners, a hotplate and 2 electric ovens with a grill. An American fridge freezer with a chill system provides ice and water. A microwave, kettle and toaster all complement the glass and steel look to the ground floor.

Living Space

The spacious Scandi' sitting room has ample super comfy seating and a smart TV. The view from this room is simply breathtaking and ever-changing. Facing east, west and north you will have spectacular sunrises and amazing sunsets. Please note that there are 2 steps down into the kitchen from the hallway and also from the sitting room.

First Floor

Each of the 4 bedrooms have fabulous views of the sea.

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom has wall to wall windows. It has the same breathtaking view that is experienced from the lounge. You have a super king size bed and a Smart TV. An armchair along with drawers and bedside cabinets furnishes the room. A separate dressing room and en-suite bathroom complemented with a freestanding bath, separate rain shower and WC complete this master room. You have a private terrace with a table and chairs for you to enjoy your morning coffee or an intimate dinner.

Bedroom 2

The second bedroom has a double bed and again has its own terrace with table and chairs overlooking the sea and shore. Open steel and oak storage completes this room. The beautiful port holed en-suite has a rain shower and WC.

Bedroom 3

The third bedroom has a king size bed and an en-suite rain shower room and WC. You have dressing rails, drawers, bed side tables and an armchair.

Bedroom 4

The fourth bedroom has a double bed with bedside cabinets plus built in dressing rails and shelves. The en-suite has a rain shower and WC.

Outside

Outside, in addition to the three sun terraces there is a shaded walled picnic patio area to the side of the house with wonderful views of the pier.

Extra Benefits

All windows with the exception of the kitchen are fitted with full black out blinds.

All the en-suites have tiled underfloor heating and heated towel rails and shaving lights with shaver points.

Soft carpeting is on the stairs and landing and throughout the bedrooms and also in the lounge. The entrance hallway, cloakroom and games room floors are Karndean.

A baby safety gate and high chair with a travel cot is available.

From the games room you access the garage that houses a washing machine and tumble dryer along with the ironing facilities. There is also ample storage for bikes and surf gear.

Walk along Amble links beach to Hauxley and continue as far as Cresswell passing through Druridge Bay alternatively stroll or cycle the coastal path to the same destination. From Alnmouth train station 10 minutes drive away you can easily reach York, Durham, Newcastle, Berwick upon Tweed and Edinburgh. Take a boat trip to Coquet Island for the amazing birdlife.
Spot the numerous sea birds from any window in the house and if you’re lucky, seals and pods of dolphins making occasional appearances at the harbour mouth.

Important Information

No pets are allowed at the property and there is a non smoking policy within the house and also on the terraces

Due to the immediate proximity of the sea we cannot guarantee that whilst the windows are cleaned weekly they may have a salted appearance dependent upon the weather.

Please note there is a refundable £200 Housekeeping deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.
