This barn was where the harvested corn was “crushed’ to prepare feed for the working horses the cattle and the sheep on the farm. Today the original “crush” and a sheep trough stand on display outside in the courtyard. An imaginative conversion of this country barn results in a 5-star spacious accommodation set out on one level.
Because of the location of this barn the area does not suffer from any light pollution and as such on clear nights you can experience some truly breath-taking dark sky stargazing.
Days can be lazy and restful, or activity filled in this beautiful location.
The property is located in a quiet hamlet just one mile from the town of Amble. Right from your doorstep you can explore a range of walking, cycling and running routes and restful views of beautiful open countryside from the garden.

This place is well located near Amble in the country side. The place is very clean, has a rustic feel and the kitchen is decently equipped. Our host was excellent, responding to our queries and going out of his way to ensure that we were comfortable. When we asked for some help, he went out of his way and brought us what we were looking for. All in all it was a comfortable, and lovely stay. We highly recommend this place for everyone.

We had a lovely week in this very comfortable holiday home. There is everything you need in the kitchen to make full meals or eat out in one of the many restaurants in Amble. We ate at the Fish shack , had the fish platter which was amazing. Throughout the house the Wi-Fi is excellent. We used the boot room to dry wet clothes. Very efficient with the boiler being in there so no problems if it rains or you need to do laundry.
It is an easy drive to many fabulous beaches up the Northumberland coast.
A spacious and comfortable lounge. We loved it here. There are so many good things I could say about this place. The owners were very helpful and left a much appreciated welcome pack. Thank you Mia and Steve

We have just enjoyed a 5 day break at the Corn Crush.
We were entertaining close friends from Australia and seeking an authentic cottage, reasonably priced and close to the tourist hot spots of Amble, Alnmouth and Alnwick. We were not disappointed.
The Corn Crush is an old barn, tastefully decorated, all on one level, with generously proportioned rooms, comfortable beds and plenty of room to relax, spread out and enjoy meals.
There is also no light pollution in the vicinity of the cottage, and if you are fortunate enough, as we were, to have a cloudless night, the stargazing is immaculate and an added bonus.
Mia, was very helpful in recommending places to eat and visit (and more importantly, where to avoid) and as a result our culinary experiences were extraordinary.
The cottage is about a mile from Amble and about 10 minutes to the A1, allowing relatively easy movement to Northumberland’s attractions.
We could not recommend the cottage highly enough, and it ticked all of our boxes.

Great beds and bedding Had Netflix and Prime so good to have something to watch on dark nights. Kitchen well equipped and modern well fitted bathrooms. Very happy with our stay.

Steve and Mia were helpful and welcoming hosts before and after arrival. The well stocked Welcome Basket was a lovely touch.

The cottage is very well equipped and a perfect base to explore Northumberland. All the rooms are large meaning our family of six had plenty of space. Although based remotely, the owners were proactive in making sure we were settled in OK and also very responsive to a few minor queries we had. The welcome basket was very helpful and we would have no hesitation in recommending the cottage to anyone looking for a modern, comfortable base to explore this part of the world.

A lovely modern barn conversion with lots of space, big well stocked kitchen and big utility room to dry wet beach gear. Pretty places to sit outside and enjoy the view with a BBQ. Felt very peaceful in land but only short drive to lovely beaches, watersports, walking and cycle routes and castles. The huge sofas , wood burning stove and smart TV in the large sitting room great for relaxing after a busy day. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch. Really enjoyed our holiday here.
